I started with some radiatorre pasta and added a sauce of thickened chicken broth. On top I put sauteed portobellas and bacon pieces. The result was simple but delicious.

PB&J

Let me start by saying that I love PB&J’s. I didn’t think much of it, until a lady at work asked me what I was having for lunch on my birthday. I told her that I had brought a PB&J, and she was aghast. She told me in no uncertain terms that I COULD NOT have PB&J on my birthday. I guess she was thinking about the lowest-bidder, supermarket-fare, PB&J’s she had as a child and also made for her kids.
With only three main ingredients, there’s no room for any slacker components (Wonder Bread and Jif, need not apply). I make my own bread and use locally-produced peanut butter and fruit spread. I frequently spice it up with some Ceylon cinnamon, Vietnamese cassia or Dutch-process cocoa.
So give it a shot, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And if anyone can suggest a good wine to go with a PB&J, I’d love to hear it!
